It's time to meet the boys from Brazil and no they're not some old Nazis who escaped their just deserts by high tailing it to Latin America but a delightful duo of talented artist.
MARCELO DIBURROS: SKETCHBOOK # 1
SC 52pp Black + White
Marcelo Diburros
Highly detailed pen and ink drawings of all sorts of stuff and a small comic strip by a talented professional illustrator.
Some of the grotesques he depicts have the ring of Bill Plympton about them, er that's in the respect they look a little like Bill's style not they look like Bill, 'kay?
GUSTAVO DUARTE: BIRDS
SC 36pp Black + White
Gustavo Duarte
We came across Gustavo at the New York Comic Con last year and snapped up some of his excellent text free comic book Taxi.
Birds, his latest creation, is again a cleverly constructed text free story drawn in a classic animation style but this time the humor is a lot darker, as two feathered friends try and outwit the grim reaper - yeah him again - will they survive, pop along to Pulp's Art to find out?
JOSE LOPEZ: MARIACHI SAMURAI II
HC + Slipcase 72pp Color, Black + White
Jose Lopez
We've been selling Jose's art books for some time now and ever since he first used this enigmatic title and revealed some of the characters people have been wanting more.
Finally that wait is over and the first two stories of samurai swordplay south of the border are featured in this new book.
Jose has been an animation professional designing characters for over 10 years, he is currently leading the team behind Transformers Prime.
You can find his original art book Mariachi Samurai and its follow up 4.00 AM at Pulp's Art.
SEAN GALLOWAY: CHEEKS STILL TOGETHER
HC 140pp Color
SEAN GALLOWAY
Each year Sean's books keep getting bigger, we guess it's to keep pace with the burgeoning number of concepts he keeps dreaming up.
His many fans will get a generous slice of what I'm calling his Trans Pacific style, its not American or Japanese but uniquely between the two, pure Cheeks.
3/4 of the book is never before seen artwork much of it based around his own concepts, Gumshoes 4 Hire, Bastion'S 7 and Urbanazian.
RYAN BENJAMIN: PANCRATIA ROUND 3
HC 83pp Color, Black + White
Ryan Benjamin
This title deserves the widest possible audience, I think Ryan's designs for his near future adventure are very strong - bringing to mind the work of Tanaka Tatsuyuki - and the story is compelling enough that I for one want to see a whole lot more.
In each book you get pages of comic art telling the post apocalyptic story, character studies and informative pieces about 3D modeling of characters, settings and vehicles for the web version.
JONBOY MYERS: SCRIBBLE
SC 32pp Color
Jonboy Myers
A nice little package full of images of superheroes and heroines from comic book and video game artist Jonboy Myers.
We are often asked if there's a sketch book by Brazilian sensation Joe Madureira and sadly there isn't, there is Art of Darksiders mind, anyway in the absence of a book by Joe why not check out Jonboy's book, he's really good.
SIMONE BIANCHI: SAN DIEGO 2011 SKETCHBOOK
SC 36pp Color, Black + White
Simone Bianchi
Simone brings something unique to the Americanized world of superheroes a European sensibility, they just look different and fresh when he draws them.
For such a nice feller Marvel have lately had him illustrating rather extreme versions of their characters, a super violent Thor and the relentlessly violent Uncanny X-Force.
This nicely produced book features commissions for collectors and research work for his major recent projects.
BRANDON PETERSON: ILLUSTRATIONS 2011
SC 52pp Color, Black + White
Brando Peterson
A nice selection of commissions by comic artist Brandon Peterson featuring a host of the more celebrated heroes from the comic and fantasy pantheon.
Brandon's style is clean, clear and highly detailed, statuesque girls are a specialty.
